Everyone seems to be updating their Facebook pages before the rollout of Timeline on 30th March, and I thought it would be a great time to remind you of the importance of having images of YOU on your Timeline, and how it can impact your business.
Facebook Timeline and images
A lot of people thought that the new Timeline would benefit just photographers, because it gives us a great way to showcase our images. But it’s also great for all business owners, because you get the opportunity to show not just what you sell, but most importantly, to connect with your page visitors right from the beginning – and that’s really important if you’re in a service industry!
It’s critical that the photographs on all your social media platforms look professional – you want to create the right image don’t you? It’s great to have off-the-cuff shots when you’re at networking events, but you need to showcase YOU – after all, your customers buy from people they like don’t they? Timeline gives you the chance to connect with visitors as soon as they hit your page, so think how valuable that connection could be.
Some of the images shown below are featured in a great blog post which you can find here, and it has some other great ideas on what to do with your Timeline “space” – it’s probably the most valuable bit of real estate that Facebook’s got for business owners, so please don’t waste it!

And you can also feature your clients as well

Crap, another thing for my to do list!!
I know Karen! My to-do list never seems to get any shorter!
Great blog post Ian, I did not realise that I was on your blog until I saw it in the group! Well done, for sharing it here. It is really important to have a timeline cover image, that represents your business and your brand so that people know what to expect from being connected with your community. I have been working with my clients to produce their timelines before the facebook deadline – which is fast approaching.
Keep up the good work.
